This Privacy Policy describes how Device Check ("we", "our", or "the App") handles your information. We respect your privacy and are committed to ensuring transparency about the data accessed by the application.

1. Information We Collect and Process

Device Check is a diagnostic and hardware information utility. The App inspects hardware components locally on your device to present technical specifications:

  • System & SoC: CPU cores, clock frequencies, chipset model, GPU renderer, and operating system build.
  • Battery: Charge percentage, health status, voltage, temperature, current flow, and technology.
  • Memory & Storage: Available RAM, internal storage capacity, and partition status.
  • Sensors: Real-time readings from accelerometer, gyroscope, light, and proximity sensors for testing.
  • Installed Apps: List of installed application package names for app catalog overview.
Local Processing Guarantee: All hardware diagnostic data is processed entirely on your physical device. We do not transmit, collect, or store your hardware specifications on any external servers.

2. Device Permissions

The App requests specific Android permissions strictly to read hardware specifications and perform diagnostic tests:

CAMERA

Used exclusively to detect camera sensor specifications (resolution, focal length, aperture, stabilization) and to test the flashlight. The App never records, stores, or transmits photos or videos.

READ_PHONE_STATE

Used solely to query cellular network technology (e.g., 4G/5G, SIM carrier) on the Network screen. The App never accesses phone numbers, contacts, or call logs.

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE & ACCESS_WIFI_STATE

Used to monitor active connection status, signal strength, link speed, and channel frequency.

BLUETOOTH & BLUETOOTH_CONNECT

Used to inspect Bluetooth adapter status and hardware availability.

Unique App Identifier (UUID) & Analytics

To understand application performance, analyze feature adoption, and measure aggregated usage trends, the App generates and sends a random, unique identifier (UUID) to our secure server.

Important Clarifications Regarding the UUID:

  • No Link to Hardware IDs: This UUID is purely software-generated at random upon app installation. It has NO relation or connection whatsoever to permanent hardware identifiers such as IMEI, MEID, IMSI, MAC address, or hardware serial numbers.
  • No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): The UUID is completely pseudonymous and is not tied to your identity, name, phone number, email address, or any user account.
  • Encrypted Transmission: The analytics data and UUID are transmitted securely using industry-standard encrypted HTTPS (SSL/TLS) protocols.
  • Sole Purpose: It is used solely for internal technical telemetry, monitoring app health, checking update availability, and analytical statistics.

3. Advertising & Third-Party Services

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process certain data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy, such as:

  • Device identifiers and Advertising ID (GAID)
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Crash reports and performance analytics

4. HTML Report Export

When you use the Export HTML Report feature, the App generates a single offline HTML file stored in your device's cache. This file is shared externally only when you manually initiate a share action via third-party apps.

5. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to persons under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
